It only took 12 minutes 🔥
10 year ago we stood at the end of the street in absolute-stunned-bewilderment, as we watched our neighbors houses burn. It was the first day of school and class had already ended. I remember the afternoon being quite pleasant, warm and mildly breezy. I had just gotten home from shopping when someone knocked on my door. It was a young gentleman walking his dog. He informed me that a fire is making its way up the hill. All it took was a bit of wind, a loose bolt scraping across the metal pole sparking a flame to the brush below. It didn’t take long for that small flame to grow into a massive wall of destruction. Standing with the wind at our back watching large billowing dark clouds engulf the entire block. The flames and smoke was the only thing visible on Sweetwater Dr. 10 homes were destroyed 9 had major damage, and several others had minor damage. My home was in the very center of the destructive area, one of my neighbors homes was completely destroyed, yet my home was untouched. I was very grateful for all the neighbors weather I knew them or not came to help be for the fire department arrived. It was be cause of these people that my house was spared.
