I've had a dream for many years of building a cob or strawbale structure. This studio combines the two. The North wall is strawbale for the extra insulation, with cob wing walls extending outward to provide protection from the wind and form the rest of the building. Large South facing windows allow for solar heat gain in the winter months, and a small fireplace should be enough to heat the whole structure. My original plans call for a rocket mass heater that would pipe heat into the entire bench on the North wall, but that's hard to represent with what is offered on the site.
