Hi, I'm trying to make a hole in the floor since im trying to use stairs, but the stairs stick out the 2nd floor. all the posts i see say to use the floor opening function under structure, but I cant see that option? im using web version of homestyler on a mac, if that helps here's a screenshot : thanks! p.s for some reason the word hole in my title is inappropriate language so i had to spell it like that

Since adding 2nd fl will duplicate the 1st, the walls used to wall in staircase will be in place to show where the hole should go for the stairs. Add 2nd fl, on 2nd fl in plane view/edit floor I use those walls to create the opening, then delete the walls. If done correctly stairs will meet the 2nd floor perfectly. If doing a 2 story entry I use 'edit floor' and just push back the floor to the back wall.

Since adding a 2nd fl will duplicate the 1st, I wall in stairs and then change the height of those specific walls to partial at 4". Then check stair placement using the scale lock so that when height is adjusted width is adjusted in scaled proportions...in 3D view to make sure the stair landing is same as wall height and add inches according to the floor thickness I chose when designing. Once complete I lock the model so that accidental movement can't happen. I then finish the design for the 1st fl.

Read forum pages and look at video tutorials on HS Youtube pages. https://www.homestyler.com/forum/view/1686626914850037761?spm=a1zmxy.22532806.0.0.65e571ceeSD99L... Design your 1st floor incl stair placement completely. I usually design around the stairs. Check stair visually in perspective and then use 3D view to check the height and adjust according to the thickness of the floor(plane view right side menu at the bottom) Some models will end up looking wonky if not scaled properly.
