To delete walls, you must enter 2D view. Click on the wall you wish to delete, then click 'delete' from the options that appear.
To hide the ceiling: while in 2D view, just click on the room...it will become highlighted. On the right hand panel, you will see, 'Ceiling - Whether to show the ceiling'. You need to deselect that option. Hope this helps.
