How to properly build a kitchen

Hi, I am having hard time designing my own kitchen, None of the kitchen templates and I want to make my own. I don't know how to do that. Can someone help me which command I should use to start creating cabinets? I was trying to use ready cabinet models but they are groups and don't let me change countertop material and cabinet separately.
