I wanted to create an indoor outdoor living experience which is why the living room is attached to the patio with expansive multi-sliding doors. Everything is uniform and symmetrical in order to enhance a feeling of peace and calm.
Here you can see how the living space is connected to the outdoors and the natural elements that have been brought inside.
I designed the fireplace to go all the way to the ceilings to draw attention to the soaring gable roof with raw wood beams that are both structural and aesthetically pleasing. Clean lines and symmetry are in keeping with minimalist design and added bohemian and coastal touches for the location.
Here you can see an overview of the space during daylight hours. Above is the same view at night.
Detail of couch. I would keep to simple accent pillows if any. I would also add a basket for throw blankets under the coffee table.
